Alison Maria Krauss is an American singer-songwriter and bluegrass country musician. Her birth date was July 23, 1971. She started working in the world of music in the early years of her life. When she was 10 years old, she took part in local competitions and made her first album. She signed to Rounder Records in 1985 and recorded her first self-titled album on the label in the year 1987. She was a part of the group which she continues to perform, Alison Krauss Union Station. The group released their debut album in 1989.
