Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28th in 1967. Her grandfather, her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts, a farmer, was one of the first Roberts to settle in Atlanta. At an early age, her father was interested in theatre. As studying at Emory University, he performed on stage in a number of shows in Atlanta. While stationed at Biloxi in Mississippi, he was inducted into the air force in the year 1953. Betty Lou Bredemus was also in the production. They got married in 2005, and welcomed their first child, Eric Anthony in 1956. Walter was a student at Tulane University at New Orleans in the year 1957, after they had separated from the US Air Force. Walter was employed to work for Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio to be a part of the production team for the television show Bum Bum His Buddies in Decatur Georgia. Walter and Betty Lou started production in 1964 on the local Saturday morning children's TV show Bum Bum and His Buddies that they self-funded. In 1964, Betty Lou and Walter founded the Actors and Writers Workshop. The workshop lasted 6 years. The couple also had two children, Lelisa Billingsley (1965) (also named Lisa), and Julia Billingsley (1967) (also know by the same name Julie).
