Anita Ekberg

Anita Ekberg was a Swedish actress who starred in several European as well as American films. Most famously, she is known for portraying the character of La Dolce Vita in an action-comedy film. The film was awarded an Oscar and the Golden Palm at the Cannes Film Festival in 1960, and was also highly acclaimed and critically acclaimed. Before pursuing her acting career her Swedish birthplace, she was working as a fashion model for international magazines. The model was the winner of the Miss Sweden competition. In the US her first appearance was in films with small roles. She was in the role of Venusian Guard in the movie 'Abbott and Costello's Trip to Mars.' This was her first film credit. Her role was soon recognized with the Golden Globe award in the "Most Promising Youngcomer" category after appearing in the film 'Bloodalley'. Her films included numerous productions, including the American/Italian War drama War and Peace, the Western "Valerie," the British crime adventure film The Man Inside and the film of the same name, The Dam on the Yellow River.'
